A working expression of Human-Centred Quality through the role of a Test Analyst. It is offered to be used, challenged and improved through practice - not as a definitive description of the role.
Observe → Interpret → Understand → Judge → Improve → Steward remains common. The question is how each Practice is expressed when professional responsibility and proximity to evidence change.
Test Analyst
Pay close attention to actual behaviour - not merely whether an expected result passed or failed. Notice anomalies, unexpected successes, user consequences and behaviour outside the immediate assertion.
Ask what observed behaviour might mean without prematurely turning a test result into an explanation. Consider alternatives and seek other perspectives where useful.
Connect test evidence with requirements, journeys, system behaviour, previous findings and other perspectives until a coherent explanation begins to emerge.
Exercise professional judgement about significance: what needs investigation, what should be surfaced and where apparent success may still conceal a quality concern.
Use what has been learned to improve testing and contribute to improvements in the product, requirement, journey or wider practice. Return to see whether the change helped.
Make useful observations and learning available beyond the immediate execution. Recognise recurring patterns and contribute knowledge that can improve future testing.
